Bruce has broken more hearts than a deep-fried Wendy’s Baconator.  But he’s also a really sensitive guy.  That means that a) He’s trying to reverse this trend, and b) He will be really upset that this is the opening to his bio.  Bruce is that guy that has such a dry sense of humor that it takes you a while to figure out how hilarious he is.  At first, you almost feel guilty for laughing at him.  It’s kind of like when you see someone fall out of a wheelchair.  You don’t think you should laugh…as the writhe around on the floor, but you can’t help it.  Then you find out it was intentional and everything is OK.  He may joke around a lot, but there are some things he is very serious about.  For example, he has a deep concern for the homeless and the poor.  He loves talking and hanging out with them, and he believes this is a desire and passion straight from God.  Second, Bruce takes our responsibility to love people while sharing the gospel as paramount.  He will be the first to tell you that he hasn’t always gotten it right, but you can bet on the fact that Bruce has sought to live the gospel among students at App who are aimless and hurting pretty much since he began college.  A pastor at heart, Bruce loves well.  He cares deeply about people, and he is willing to make himself uncomfortable to help others.

He has this thing where he thinks he’s going to be a cop.  But everyone knows he will get fired.  He’s so nice, there is no way he could write a ticket…much less arrest anyone!  So when he talks about this law enforcement thing, just humor him.  Everyone else does.

Hailing from Taylorsville and graduating in December 2011 with a Sociology/Criminal Justice degree, Bruce likes football, hip hop, and dressing like a frat boy.  He does not have a bike.  After graduation, he might become a cop.  He might go to seminary.  He might start a ministry to the homeless.  He’s still trying to figure all that out.
