Amy Ward

Amy Ward, Worship Team Leader

Amy was called “Cupcake” in high school. She explains, “The guys in my class started calling me that as a nickname at soccer games. Then it just stuck through high school. To this day I don’t know how they came up with that.” It’s ok; Amy’s also a missionary kid who grew up in Central Asia. It makes sense she wouldn’t understand. Her most embarrassing moment? Her parents collaborating with the parents of several guys her age to try and arrange her marriage. Again, she’s a missionary kid. Amy’s major is in Architecture now, but she wanted to be a Veterinarian when she was a kid. You know how things change.

Some other little tidbits about Amy?

  • She likes V for Vendetta, The Proposal, and The Three Muskateers.
  • Running, Cycling, Swimming, Couch-sitting? She’s looking for a pool.
  • She likes Capone’s, and she misses BeansTalk on King Street.

Amy got involved with BCM pretty much as soon as she got off the plane. And ever since then, she has been experiencing all kinds of change. A lot of it has been uncomfortable, and that’s why she says she connects with Esther in the Bible. “I feel like I’m constantly being pushed out of my comfort zone, much like Esther was, where God is making my faith one of increasing boldness.” And that’s where she finds herself in leadership now. She says, “I’m excited to see all these epic new things happening in the worship team; hopefully it’ll send shockwaves through BCM and be a catalyst for the many other changes going on.” As the Worship Team Leader, Amy is responsible for leading the team that plans Proskuneo, our weekly worship gathering, in a way that brings glory and honor to Jesus.
