Evolution

Evolution is the word BCM uses for our process of Disciple-making and Missionary-training. Evolutionary theory is about change, specifically the change a group or species makes together. The crazy thing is that the change is so subtle that no one even notices that it is taking place until it has already happened. Similarly, Matthew 13:31-32 teaches that the Kingdom of God comes just as subtly. It grows and advances all around us, even in us, until one day we step back and discover that, “here it is.” We’re not talking about an X-Man kind of mutation here. We’re talking about a group of people together becoming what God wants us to be. So yeah, we know the word evolution will scare people. It gets a bad wrap among followers of Jesus. But just because we use the word, it doesn’t make us Marxists or anything. We just believe that God changes us best when we are in community together.

Be aware that these groups are not business as usual. Don’t expect to come and walk through a study curriculum on prayer or witnessing or effective Bible reading or models of worship or dating relationships. Those are all fine things to study, but these groups just aren’t structured for that. Think of these as the hub from which many spokes are sent out to make disciples through Gospel-centered relationships.
Evolution is four groups that meet together each week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 7:00 pm as well as one that meets on Wednesdays at 1:00). Each group gathers at the BCM House and then goes to a separate location for their weekly meetings.

To join an Evolution Group, all you have to do is show up. Choose which night works best with your schedule and show up at the BCM House that night. Follow the crowd and you’re in!
